After growing up in the Czech Republic, earning a Ph.D. in French linguistics, and having a career as a translator in Italy, Jana moved to Luxembourg to pursue her passion for dramatic writing. She has written plays and film scripts for adults and has written/directed several shows for children and teenagers, including short films.

Jana received a grant from the National Cultural Fund of Luxembourg in 2019 to write a bilingual audio play, FAIS DODO, for the KAPPKINO (Cinema in your head) project, which was published as a vinyl record.

Her award-winning play LOVE YOU TRULY, which tells the story of a couple in a time of pandemic, has been performed in the Czech Republic since 2022.

Her award-winning surrealist play LES ÎLES ET LES CABILLAUDS was published in France.

Her first feature script, LE BLANC IMMENSE, a drama set aboard a medical train in a snowy taiga, won second prize in Luxembourg's National Literary Competition 2023.

Her short script A LONELY DREAMER, which explores the separation between man and wilderness, has won awards at film festivals around the world.
